Industrial Piercing Aftercare Guide

  • Given that it heals in about 8 to 12 months, take good care.
  • Throughout the healing process, clean your newly placed industrial piercing two to three times a day using a saline piercing aftercare solution.
  • Try not to sleep on your piercing as it heals.
  • Stay away from standing water (like swimming pools, lakes, and baths).
  • Don’t touch the piercing.
  • Keep the jewelry still. Do not twist the jewelry within the piercing.
  • Use Fucidin or Fucicort cream every night before sleeping to boost the healing process.
  • Have a piercer confirm that the piercing has fully healed before stopping aftercare practices.

Tips & Tricks

  • Utilize a travel pillow to aid in your sleeping routine.
  • Every day, wash your piercings in clean water and mild soap in the shower. Don't forget to use a dryer to dry them after.
  • Applying fucicort lotion or fucidin helps accelerate the healing process.
  • Always begin with a light piece of jewelry.
  • Once the swelling has subsided, downsize your jewelry.
  • Keep your head and hair tidy because dandruff can quickly contaminate the piercings.

What to Avoid

  • Put an end to touching your piercing. The greatest way to spread bacteria is through our hands.
  • For up to a month, stay away from lakes, pools, and the sea because contaminated water can quickly infect piercings.
  • While your piercing is healing, avoid rotating it. They won't be stuck, I promise you.
  • Avoid covering your piercing with fragrances, makeup, or any other skin or hair products.
  • Do not sleep with wet hair.
  • Do not clean with alcohol or cotton buds.
  • Use of over-ear headphones or any other device that applies pressure to your piercing is not advised.
  • Throughout the healing process, avoid taking off or changing your jewelry.
  • Avoid tea tree oil and any other products that your friends or social media have recommended.
