First Ear Lobe Piercing Aftercare Guide

  • Given that it heals in about 4 to 6 months, the ear lobe piercing may be among the simpler piercings. That does not, however, imply that you can neglect your aftercare routines.
  • The most important rule is to never touch a piercing. Every time you touch your piercing, you get one step closer to developing an infection, which is a very dangerous thing.
  • Throughout your initial healing period, spray the prescribed saline solution 2 to 3 times daily without stopping. Additionally, it's a good idea to wash your piercings once a day in clean water and soap.
  • Stay away from standing water for a min period of 45 days (like sea, swimming pools, lakes, and baths).
  • Steer clear of any lotions, including those for skin care and makeup. even the moisturizers that are close to your piercing. The healing process can quickly become complicated if something gets stuck in your piercing or on your jewelry.
  • Do not sleep on your sides during the whole healing period as pressure can easily damage the piercings, in-fact you can use a piercing pillow or a travel pillow to relieve pressure from the ear.
  • Jewelry should never be moved or rotated during the healing process as this will just make things more difficult. It is also not advised to take any actions that may hinder the healing process.
  • Do not use any antibacterial creams without consulting your piercer.
  • Have a piercer confirm that the piercing has fully healed before stopping aftercare practices.

Tips & Tricks

  • Under no circumstances should you take off your jewelry during the healing process because doing so increases the risk of losing the piercing, and putting it back is not the solution.
  • Jewelry should never be changed, replaced, or altered while the body is recovering. We recognize that anyone can quickly become tired of their jewels, but doing so while the piercing is healing, which takes six months, is very terrible and can quickly make the healing process more difficult.
  • Every day, wash your piercings in clean water and mild soap in the shower. Don't forget to use a dryer to dry them after.
  • Best thing that you can do for your piercing is DO NOT TOUCH IT.
  • The first jewelry change should be performed by a qualified piercer. You can only do this when the piercing has fully healed.
  • Keep in mind that stress, bad diet, drug addiction, or illness might lead to a prolonged recovery period or other challenges

  • Steer clear of any lotions, sprays, including those for skin care and makeup. even the moisturizers that are close to your piercing. The healing process can quickly become complicated if something gets stuck in your piercing or on your jewelry.
  • Do not clean with alcohol or cotton buds.
  • Throughout the healing process, avoid taking off or changing your jewelry.
  • Avoid tea tree oil and any other products that your friends or social media have recommended.

Downsizing

Downsizing jewelry is also crucial for a piercing to heal properly; this involves taking out the long post and replacing it with a shorter length based on tissue inflammation and swelling. This can be done 45-90 days following the piercing. This period varies from person to person, as does the aftercare for the piercing. Downsizing charges are 50AED every piece of jewelry if it is titanium. If it is our made gold jewelry then, it is free since we remove the lengthy back and replace it with shorter backs.
